Golden Lady…

Golden Lady…

sso_product Just about a month ago, I became really frustrated with my voice (yes… more than usual ;-) – I decided to start looking for a teacher or program… something!! After about 2 days of searching, I found Brett Manning… this guy is AWESOME!! I have to say it again… Brett is awesome.

I ordered his Singing Success program and have been making the silliest sounds for about a month… but Brett knows what he is talking about. If he said walk out in traffic and make funny armpit sounds… you’d see me dodging traffic ;-)

Now… of course, I am a “work in progress” but my range and control has really improved. I have a mix voice now (yeah!!!)  however, my tone… well that is another story…  hehe :-)

imagesAfter starting this program… listening to music has completely changed for me. I am suddenly hearing new layers and techniques found in great singer’s voices.

While jamming out to “Golden Lady” by Stevie Wonder… I thought, “this song would groove as a rock song” (is there nothing sacred? ;-)

I can remember laying the guitar solo down one night… it just came. It was writing itself, my studio monitors were cranked up and I was having a blast playing it. This was the first song where I wasn’t working to record it.

So… here is my cover of “Golden Lady” (don’t tell Stevie.. ok?)

Meet Alex!

Meet my new buddy… “Alex”

Alex is a 1 year old Shih Tzu that I recently rescued from Ron’s Rescued Rascals. As I understand it, he was running stray and just about to get hit by a car when a nice woman picked him up.

Let me tell you, he is the sweetest little dog… we bonded immediately.

Here’s how it happened… I was stumbling last week (stumbleupon.com) when I stumbled into petfinder.com

2 minutes later… I was looking at his ad – it read:

“Hi I was running stray and was about to get hit. This nice lady picked me up and fed me and put some meat back on my bones. She then called the rescue to help me find a home. My owners aren’t looking for me. But I am a sweetheart.

I am about 1 year old and still have some baby teeth, very playful, and love everyone. I snuggle at your feet at night near the couch and love to play with other dogs. I am crate trained, not sure if i am house broken, my foster mom is evaluating that. but If I am not, I am old enough to learn real quick with some tasty treats and some one on one attention.”

I melted.

I knew this was my new puppy. He is adorable. Within a couple days, Alex has learned how to go outside to potty, sit, shake hands, do the “high 5” and walk with me. I’ve learned how patience, consistence and a bag of treats will get you anywhere with this puppy :-)

So… Saturday, Alex had his first visit to the doggie spa. Judging from his appearance when I got him, I would say this was his first visit ever! :-)

Check out his before and after pics:

Wow… what a difference! Truth be told, I like him better with the long coat but I had to get rid of that matted, stinky, yucky mess. We’ll grow it back :-)
