NPLICITY – My latest software
So… I’ve been locked in the house coding for a solid week. (staying warm.. it’s 10 degrees outside :-)
I’d love to introduce my latest software offering…
NPLICITY (pronounced: "in•plicity") – The Guitarist’s Audio Player
This software was created out of 100% personal frustration.
Picture this… you’re trying to learn a song.. the guy is playing a million miles an hour.. you’re trying to get it… Windows media player or Winamp is crashing… you have to stop playing, reach up, fumble for the mouse to stop the track…rewind and start again..release the mouse…AHHHHH where was I?????
You load up the song… pinpoint the area of the song you wanna learn.. hit the space bar to start the track and hit it again to stop or rewind. Even loop continuously until you get it!
The guy is playing too fast? Use the Tempo control to actually slow down the riff (without changing pitch) – I am not kidding… I was learning “Fall on me” by Kings X one note at a time… it felt like cheating. At one point, I was laughing out loud because I was learning this tough solo.
Once you get it at a slow speed… you can gradually speed up the riff until you can play it at regular speed!
Another great feature is the ability to change the tune of the song to match the tuning of your guitar!!
The built-in 10 band EQ allows you to ‘bring up’ a hard to hear guitar in the mix or remove other unwanted sounds (like drums or that annoying singer..lol)
NPLICITY!!! I love this software!

Cold, Cold..Sweat!
John Sykes has been one of my favorite players since I was a kid. His guitar work in Thin Lizzy and Blue Murder is genius. His playing has always inspired me.
I can remember the first time I heard “Cold Sweat” by Thin Lizzy. Phil Lynott’s deep, raspy vocals and John’s ripping guitars made my jaw drop. I went out to the store that day and bought “Thunder and Lightning”.

2008 Motorcycle Recap
Well.. it’s freezing here in Ohio and I can’t wait to get some nice weather!! My bike is begging to go for a ride!
It seems like everyone I know got a new bike last year. Jarrod, Chris Robert, Eric, Kirk and of course.. yours truly :-)
Here is a recap:
My Bike
2003 Vulcan 1600 Classic. I wanted this particular year because it was the only year this color was offered. (the silver turns purple in the sun) The Vulcan was one of the only big bikes I fit on. Bought it in February from Harding’s Park Cycle.
Here is the “before” picture (the bike as I bought it) – Below are my “after” pictures (I dressed this bike as a birthday present to myself ;-)
Changes included: Cobra pipes, Cobra fuel processor, Hypercharger, Mustang seats, Mustang tank bib, ISO grips with stiletto ends, custom leather bags, chrome shifter and brake covers, highway pegs and Lizard Lights. (this bike sounds great – very loud)
Added a little more leather and chrome.
Jarrod’s Bike
Jarrod bought this killer V-Rod with a great custom paint job. This bike is so fast… it’s scary. After years riding the Fonzie bike… this guy was due ;-)
Chris Robert
Chris picked up this awesome custom on eBay. I have yet to see this bike but I hear it’s really fast. It has an 127 cubic inch engine with an open primary (watch out for those pant legs ;-)
Wow… this is a great bike. Have you ever taken it on any sweet jumps? lol
Eric
Eric bought this 105th Anniversary Harley in late summer. The copper and black is a beautiful combination. Once he replaced the stock pipes, you could really hear this bike roar. It sounds as good as it looks!
