HDMI Distribution Woes
It’s no secret that I love Monoprice. Up to now, I haven’t had any issues with anything. Well… I think my streak is over.
I just updated my Directv receiver to HD (which is awesome) and wanted to be able to both view it upstairs and in the theater. I set out for a HDMI distribution amp and Monoprice had a good deal on a 1×4 (1 input, 4 output).
So far, the 6 foot output to my Samsung TV works great but I have intermittent audio failure on the 35 foot output to the theater. From what I am reading, this is not uncommon and I called support at Monoprice who confirmed the box is failing.
The Search Is On
Since Monoprice is out of stock on a replacement, I guess the search is on for a new box.
I managed to find an EBay shop selling a 1×3 for $89 and a little shipping. Although a bit skeptical, I decided to purchase after reading the vendor’s feedback rating. (hey… 10,000 positive ratings have to mean something :-)

What I received
I received my order as expected, unpacked it and plugged it in. Knock on wood, this box works great. I am finally able to watch HDTV in the theater!!
